Fast and easy Tilapia Pizza
When we think about seafood pizza our minds often turn to the idea of anchovies. You can actually produce quite a tasty pizza using fresh fish like tilapia. If you’ve never had fresh seafood on pizza before, this is a great recipe you can try to make a specialty pizza that isn’t going to break the bank. The recipe starts by purchasing a premade pizza crust. You can choose the gluten-free or traditional option for pizza crust for this recipe. Tilapia is best paired with some subtle touches like sliced onions or bell peppers as well as some traditional mozzarella cheese. You’ll also need marinara sauce or pizza sauce in order to spread across the pizza.
If you happen to find some tilapia fillets that have been preseasoned with a teriyaki flavor, Santa fe seasoning or even light pepper seasoning, this can only add to the flavors of this pizza. Start by preheating your oven to 425°. You can then spread out the dough that you’ve pre-purchased or premade and begin the process of dressing your pizza. Once the dough has been spread out to a quarter inch of thickness, you can oil the bottom and spread the pizza sauce of your choosing along the top of it as a base. Place the tilapia along the pizza sauce and begin building your vegetable toppings all over the top of the fish. Placing the bell peppers and the onion over the fish will further flavor it when it cooks in the oven.
After all of the toppings have been properly arranged you can spread the cheese on top and bake the pizza directly on top of parchment paper in the oven. This can help to prevent the pizza from falling through your oven racks and make sure it still gets enough heat. Bake for 10 to 12 min. into the cheese is fully melted and the crust is Brown.
